正印 · Direct Resource

zhèngyìn · the element that produces your Day Master, of the opposite polarity

正印 Direct Resource, zhèngyìn, is one of the Ten Gods of BaZi: the name for a stem of the element that produces your Day Master, with the opposite polarity. For a 辛 Yin Metal Day Master, that stem is 戊 Yang Earth.

The Ten Gods are not deities. They are the ten possible relationships between your Day Master and any other stem, named for what that relationship does.

Care that nourishes. Traditionally read as learning, protection, qualifications and the people who look after you.

How it is worked out

Earth produces Metal, and 戊 is Yang against a Yin Day Master, so the relationship is Direct Resource. Had the stem been 己 Yin Earth, the same relation with matching polarity would be 偏印 Indirect Resource instead.
