About Auspica

Auspica is a phone app that works out a BaZi chart (四柱八字, the four pillars) from a birth date, time and place, and reads each day of the Chinese almanac (通书) against it. It is published by Propoa Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore, and it presents BaZi as a tradition for reflection and planning, not prediction.

What is Auspica?

An app for the two things people most often look up in the Chinese calendar: their own chart, and whether a day suits what they are planning. It shows the four pillars, the Day Master and the balance of the five elements; reads every day of the almanac, with its 宜 and 忌, against your chart; and finds good dates for you and the people you choose. It is in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

The chart is free, here on the website and in the app, and needs no sign-up. Pro, a subscription, adds the deeper readings and tools. This site also keeps a free almanac of every day, good days month by month, and a glossary of BaZi terms.

What does Auspica believe?

Show the reasoning, and let people decide. Every day rating comes with the reasons that make it up, every chart says which conventions it used, and where schools disagree the app picks a default, says so, and lets you change it. How each number is worked out is set down on the Methods page.

BaZi is a tradition, not a prediction. Readings describe tendencies and timing, and nothing in them is guaranteed. Clashes are watch-outs, not omens. They are cultural guidance for reflection, not medical, legal or financial advice.

Your chart is yours. It is calculated on your device, and the free chart needs no account. Birth details are copied to our servers only when you sign in to save and sync, and we don't sell personal data or show ads. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
